The small punch that I used can be purchased for around a dollar in the scrap-booking section at Michaels. I've used similar punches before in my nail art to cut shapes out of nail wraps or dried polish 'decals' and I think they are lots of fun. The small image on the top of the punch somewhat resembled a snowflake with irregular 'petals', however as you can see the resulting cutout were perfect little flowers...
Once punched out, I simply peeled the wrap off the backing and applied them to the nails. To make sure that everything stayed in place, I did seal the manicure off with a top coat, although I don't think that is absolutely necessary...
In my haste to add a top coat, I forgot that the nail wraps not only need to be peeled off the paper backing, BUT they also have a clear film on top. I actually forgot to remove the clear film and didn't realize it until it was time to remove my manicure and all of a sudden I had clear little flowers everywhere. Oy! Live and learn...
I debated adding a rhinestone to the center of these so called snowflakes, but that made them look even more flowery than they already were. Come Spring or Summer time I will definitely be using this punch for some flowers with pretty rhinestone centers...
Let me know what you think of this manicure!
Thanks for looking!
