Pete Davidson cancels sold-out comedy show 24-hours before scheduled appearance due to 'unforeseen conflict'

Pete Davidson left fans mystified on Tuesday evening after cancelling a stand-up show at the last minute, with no forthcoming explanation. The troubled comedian and Saturday Night Live presenter, who has battled depression, was scheduled to appear at the South Orange Performing Arts Centre (SOPAC) in New Jersey at 7:00pm.
At 6:00pm on Monday evening ticket holders were informed that Davidson, 25, would not be performing at the venue due to an ‘unforeseen conflict’, Page Six reports. The show had quickly sold out, with tickets on sale at $49 each, within hours of the show being announced on Friday, February 15. An ad posted by the venue's official website promised a 'laugh out loud performance' from 'comedy superstar' Davidson, currently the youngest member of the Saturday Night Live cast.
Taking to social media, fans were left bemused by the abrupt cancellation, with one tweeting:  'WTF! The gig was just announced. Maybe there was a conflict. Maybe not. But to postpone the gig 25 hours before showtime because of a conflict?'
