50 Cent Admits He'll Never Sell 10 Million Records Again

50 Cent has two diamond selling albums to his name. Platinum is selling over a million copies, while Diamond is selling over 10 million copies. His first album, Get Rich Or Die Trying (2003) sold 13 million copies worldwide; and his second album, The Massacre (2005) sold 10 million copies worldwide. Those are huge numbers, but 50 Cent himself knows he will never sell albums like that no more.

“Newsflash, I’ll never sell 13 million records again. I’ll never sell 10 million records again. I don’t think anybody’s gonna do it. It’s a different business. It’s a different thing and I’m cool with that. I’m making music because I love it and it’s why I’m here. There’s nothing that can actually compare when it’s right. What it feels like when it’s right. When the music is just dead right and it’s like ‘woo’ that energy that’s there…that’s some special kind of high that you get addicted to and you’ll chase it for the rest of your actual career.”

I guess that reality is why he keeps pushing the release date of his Street King Immortal album back. He needs to realize he might never sell a million copies again with any album, and just accept that. And what he said about no one ever selling 10 million again is a bogus claim...it is very possible that someone would come around and do that again. Eminem's Recovery (2010) album has sold over 8 million copies worldwide, so it is still possible for a rapper to sell Diamond.
